The briefcase is coming to Los Angeles.
WWE has announced its June 7 Money in the Bank premium live event will take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, marking the first time the new state-of-the-art arena or any L.A. area venue has hosted the event.
The high-stakes, high-profile professional wrestling spectacular is one of the marquee events in all of WWE, and this year it will feature the final Money in the Bank appearance by current Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena as part of his farewell tour.
Money in the Bank is one of WWE’s most consequential premium events, highlighted by the men’s and women’s signature ladder matches in which multiple stars battle for a briefcase suspended above the ring. Inside that briefcase is a contract for a guaranteed championship match, which can be cashed in at any time and place within a year.
Cena himself was a former winner in 2012, but was unsuccessful in his title match against longtime rival CM Punk.
Tickets for this year’s event go on sale Friday at 8 a.m. on the official WWE website. Combined tickets with the promotion’s Worlds Collide event at the Kia Forum are also available for purchase.
Tickets can also be purchased through On Location, and Cash App members will be eligible for an exclusive presale.
The 18,000-seat Intuit Dome, which is home to the Los Angeles Clippers, played host to the Netflix debut of WWE’s flagship Monday Night Raw in January. Officials say that was the highest-grossing arena show to date.
The inaugural Money in the Bank ladder match, which debuted originally as part of Wrestlemania 21 in 2005, was held at the then-Staples Center in downtown L.A.
