As the release date for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning nears, Paramount Pictures has revealed the run-time for the Tom Cruise-led action film. After nearly three decades and eight films, the franchise is slated to come to an end this summer with the climactic final film.
After rumors of its run-time, Paramount confirmed to ComicBook that the final movie will have a run-time of 2 hours and 49 minutes, breaking the record for the longest film in the franchise. Coming in second is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning at 2 hours of 43 minutes. The final film is being marketed as its own standalone chapter, and not the second half to Dead Reckoning.
The Final Reckoning is expected to tie up loose ends from other Mission: Impossible films. In his 60s, Cruise is still performing his own stunts. Playing Ethan Hunt for nearly 30 years now, Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie are leaving everything on the screen for their final go at Mission: Impossible. It has not been confirmed just yet if the franchise will continue in any other capacity.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning arrives in theaters on May 23, receiving a world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
