Jeezy is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 with a special black-tie symphonic tour.
Kicking off this June, “TM:101 Live” will find the trap pioneer reimagining his major label debut album with a classical twist. Joining Jeezy for this engagement are renowned bassist and composer Derrick Hodge, Color of Noize Orchestra and DJ Drama as a special guest. Fans can catch the rap icon across a total of 23 cities including Atlanta, Chicago and New York before wrapping up in Detroit on September 12.
“I’m incredibly grateful that we’re here celebrating 20 years of motivation! This album is cemented in the cultural zeitgeist that serves as the soundtrack to modern day story telling of the genre,” Jeezy said in a statement. “This album had the impact it does because it was raw without hidden truth. I can’t wait for the fans to experience the album in a new way with this tour”.
Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 dropped in July 2005 and marked Jeezy’s commercial debut. It featured guest appearances from Mannie Fresh, JAY-Z, Trick Daddy, Akon, T.I and more, and went on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The record has since been certified double platinum by the RIAA.
