Ben Affleck is back to crunch numbers—and skulls—in The Accountant 2, a sequel to the 2016 action movie The Accountant, opening in theaters this weekend.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, with a screenplay written by Bill Dubuque (the same director and same writer as the first movie), The Accountant 2 once again stars Affleck as Christian Wolff, an autistic accountant who is very good with numbers, and fronts his family’s money laundering operation. As children, both Christian and his brother Braxton (Jon Bernthal) were “trained” by their father in weaponry and martial arts. Not great for their mental health, but pretty great for beating up bad guys!
In this sequel, a treasury agent (Marybeth Medina) reaches out to Christian and Braxton for help solving her friend’s murder. That sounds like a job for an accountant, alright! Also starring J. K. Simmons, Daniella Pineda, Robert Morgan, Grant Harvey, and Anthony Howard, (but, sadly, not Anna Kendrick) The Accountant 2 first premiered at South by Southwest Film Festival. Most critics agreed that this movie is a fun one to see in theaters, so here’s what to know about where to watch The Accountant 2 movie and when we expect to see The Accountant 2 movie streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

For now, The Accountant 2 will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, April 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. The Accountant 2 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is The Accountant 2 movie streaming on Netflix?
The Accountant 2 is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is not a Netflix movie. The Accountant 2 is an MGM movie, and therefore will likely go to streaming on MGM+, the premium channel previously known as Epix. Currently, MGM+ costs $6.99 a month, and there is a seven-day free trial.
Will The Accountant 2 movie be streaming on Amazon Prime Video?
You will be able to purchase The Accountant 2 on Amazon Prime Video when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, likely in about a month. But you will have to wait to be able to watch The Accountant 2 streaming on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription. The Accountant 2 is an MGM movie, and Amazon has owned MGM since the 2022 acquisition. The MGM movies have been streaming on Prime—but slowly. First, the movies go to MGM+, before they become available free on Prime.
Another Amazon MGM movie, Blink Twice, was released on digital platforms about one month after opening in theaters, was released on MGM+ about three months after the movie opened in theaters, and finally began streaming on Amazon Prime Video for free about five months after opening in theaters. If The Accountant 2 follows a similar release strategy, you might see The Accountant 2 on digital around late May 2025, The Accountant 2 on MGM+ around late July 2025, and The Accountant 2 streaming free on Amazon Prime around late September 2025.
