It’s been over a year since Salehe Bembury expanded his Crocs Pollex Clog line by introducing a new artist-led series titled Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job (AFTUGJ). Each pair in the lineup is said to “create a moment within fine art that both educates a new consumer and continues the discourse for an existing one,” with artists such as Futura and Jonas Wood as previous guests who created their own pairs, limited to 1,000 units each.
Now, Bembury has officially presented the third edition in the series, teaming up with Nina Chanel Abney this time around. The American painter has previously worked with Jordan Brand, assembling special takes on shoes such as the Air Jordan 3. Her version of the Pollex Clog sees it sport two different black and white checkerboard patterns on the two shoes, with the right one favoring stretched squares and the other featuring a repeated face motif. A pop of pink enlivens the toe and rear while also appearing at the “NCA”-branded strap.
Salehe Bembury is set to drop his latest edition of his Crocs Pollex Clog “Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job”, featuring the artwork of Nina Chanel Abney, on April 30. The 1,000 pairs produced will be exclusively available via BeASpunge at 12pm EST a starting price of $95 USD.
