PHOENIX — Grand Canyon University will end the school year with the largest number of graduates in its 75-year history, the private school announced Tuesday.
GCU’s 2024-25 graduating class will have 31,104 students. Of that number, 5,669 students took classes at the west Phoenix campus, while another 25,435 took online classes.
The class consists of students who completed their degrees in the Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.
It is GCU’s fourth straight year with more than 28,000 graduates.
Almost as many students earned a graduate degree (15,214) as those who completed undergraduate coursework (15,890).
Graduation ceremonies will be held on April 23-25 for traditional students and April 29-May 2 for online students.
What are the top fields for GCU graduating class?
Among the class, 8,684 graduates will enter the teacher/education field, 5,277 will enter nursing and 5,274 will go into social work/counseling/behavioral health.
“Our focus remains on partnering directly with employers to help them address their workforce shortages, especially in critical sectors like education, health care, technology, engineering, social work, counseling and the military,” GCU President Brian Mueller said in a press release.
“While many universities have scaled back programs amid declining enrollments since the pandemic, GCU has introduced 148 new academic programs, emphases and certificates across our 10 colleges, all aligned with current labor market demands.”
