EXCLUSIVE: After working with Todd Haynes and Alex Garland, Charles Melton has found his next high-profile director to work with as sources tell Deadline he has signed on to star in a new film Her Private Hell from Nicolas Winding Refn. Not much is known about the project including the title but insiders say it falls in line with the edgy thrillers the auteur is known for like Drive and Bronson. Refn is writing and directing with Neon Pictures co-financing and distributing the film.

Neon had no comment on the project. The film is expected to start shooting this summer.

Best known for his role as Reggie on the hit CW series Riverdale, Melton has been on role in terms of landing roles in critically acclaimed films that started with the Netflix drama May December. Directed by Haynes and also starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, Melton held his own opposite the two Oscar winners in a performance that earned him rave reviews and a Golden Globe nomination.

Watch on Deadline

He most recently starred in the A24 war pic Warfare from director Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza and recently wrapped production on the highly-anticipated second season of Beef at Netflix.

He is repped by CAA and 111 Media.
