BBC Behind ‘P Diddy: The Rise And Fall’ Doc

The BBC is making P Diddy: The Rise and Fall, examining how Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legacy is now tarnished. Fronted by presenter Yinka Bokinni, P Diddy: The Rise and Fall explores the world that propelled the disgraced rapper to stardom and the system that may have protected him for years. Combs has been charged with criminal offences of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution and faces an upcoming trial in May, with prosecutors alleging he “abused, threatened, and coerced women.” Since he was indicted, dozens of lawsuits have accused Combs of using his power to drug, assault, intimidate and silence people. Combs has defended himself against what he describes as “sickening allegations” made by “individuals looking for a quick payday.” Bokinni said: “My job is to tell stories—but never did I imagine I’d be telling this one. Investigating the alleged actions of Diddy has forced a spotlight onto the darker side of an industry so many of us dream of belonging to.” The BBC Three doc is being produced by David DeHaney’s Proper Content and will air next week.

Channel 4 Makes First AI Trailer

Watch on Deadline

Channel 4 has let AI loose on its Open House: The Great Sex Experiment trailer. The UK net has forged what it says is its first artificial intelligence-led promo for the third season of the factual show. “The show asks if monogamy still fits modern relationships. So we wondered: what happens when you strip out human emotion and let AI try to make sense of it?,” posted Channel 4 boss Alex Mahon on LinkedIn, where the trailer can be viewed. Mahon said Channel 4’s 4Creative agency used ethical platforms and “kept our creative brains firmly in the driver’s seat” when delivering the trail. Channel 4 is currently prepping entertainment series The Honesty Box, which uses an AI-generated lie detector test.

The series stars Mary-Louise Parker, Ben Barnes, and Joe Freeman. Anna Bogutskaya, Head of Screen at SXSW London, described programming the festival’s first edition as a “dream.” “We are excited to present bold new work from across the world, celebrating boundary-pushing films across documentary, animation, and narrative filmmaking,” Bogutskaya said. “Our programme is designed to ignite conversations, inspire new connections, and showcase and celebrate screen storytelling across film, TV, and immersive.”
