HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The family of Andrew Gilliam is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest for his murder.
Andrew Gilliam, a rocket engineer, was 27 years old when he was shot through his bedroom window at Sunlake at Edgewater Apartments off Zierdt Road in Huntsville in January 2023. Three apartments were found to have been shot into that night, however, Gilliam was the only person injured.
He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Gilliam’s wife, Robin, posted a video on social media Monday stating that the family would be offering a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest. The reward window ends on May 31.
“Whoever took his life, did not just take his life – they took our future,” Robin said. “Its been over two years and we still do not know who committed this crime.”
In the last two years, the reward amount has continued to increase and police have said they’ve followed several leads, but no arrests have been made in the case.
While no one has been arrested for this shooting, the Huntsville Police Department said they are “committed to seeking justice and closure for this case.”
HPD asks that if you have any information about the shooting, either contact Investigator Kreiter at (256) 883-3739 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
