A homeless parolee with more than a dozen prior arrests was charged with attempted murder in the unprovoked metal knuckle knife attack on a Bronx straphanger last week, cops said.

Lateef Green, 50, was arrested less than 12 hours after he allegedly plunged the blade multiple times into the 21-year-old victim’s arm and stomach on a southbound No. 2 train at the 219th Street station in Olinville around 7 a.m. Friday, police said.

The violence unfolded as Green strolled between cars on a southbound No. 2 train, according to cops and sources.

The unsuspecting victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

He required multiple stitches to treat his wounds, according to a criminal complaint.

Green was also charged with assault, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment and ordered held on $300,000 cash bail or $900,000 bond during his Saturday arraignment, prosecutors said.

Green – whose most recent address is listed as a homeless shelter about a mile away from the station where the stabbing took place – has 13 prior arrests, cops said.

He served just under four years behind bars in connection to a hate-fueled attack that broke another man’s nose in Manhattan back in March of 2016, according to State Corrections records and a criminal complaint.

In that broad-daylight incident, Green seethed, “There’s too many f—ts in this town,” before pummeling the victim in the face and kicking him in the head and body on West 124th Street in Harlem, according to the court doc.

When cops tried to arrest Green, he refused to put his hands behind his back and flailed his arms around, according to the complaint.

He was charged with third-degree assault as a hate crime and resisting arrest.

Green was convicted of that violent crime in 2017 and sentenced to between 3 and 6 years in prison, according to the Manhattan DA’s Office.

He was locked up at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy, NY from May of that year until January of 2021, when he was released on parole, records show.

His post-release supervision is set to expire in October 2026, according to the records.

A spokesman for the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision told The Post that parole staff reviewed photos submitted by cops and helped connect Green to the subway stabbing.

After Green was arrested and charged, state Corrections officials issued a warrant and Green was ordered held following a hearing on Saturday, the spokesman said.

He remains in custody ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday and a final appearance set for April 29 to determine whether his parole will be revoked.

He is currently being held at the Eric M. Taylor Center on Rikers Island and is next scheduled to appear in court in connection to the stabbing arrest on Thursday.

His Legal Aid attorney, Susan Light, did not immediately return a call for comment from The Post.

Green’s most recent prior arrest was for allegedly jumping the turnstile at a Brooklyn station back in February, authorities said.
