She’s coming out of her shell.
Melania Trump made a rare public appearance while attending President Trump’s Easter Egg Roll at the White House in Washington, D.C., Monday.
The first lady was by her husband’s side to greet adorable attendees at the post-Easter event held on the South Lawn.
Melania, 54, and Donald, 78, blew whistles in tandem to signal for the kids to begin the annual egg roll competition.
Later in the day, Melania read Marilyn Sadler’s book, “Bunny with a Big Heart,” to a group of kids.
The former model looked chic in a neutral trench coat tied at the waist and green pointed-toe pumps.
She was notably in high spirits throughout the day of fun and was captured smiling with children at several activity stations. At one point, she and Donald held hands and he was even seen giving her a kiss on the cheek.
“A very happy Easter to everyone,” the president told the audience while kicking off the festivities. “It was a beautiful day yesterday, and it’s a beautiful day today. We don’t have to worry about sunburn, but it looks like it’s not going to be raining.”
He continued, “Easter is special. And it’s one of our favorite days. It’s one of our favorite periods of time. We’re honoring Jesus Christ. And, we’re going to honor Jesus Christ very powerfully throughout our lives, all throughout our lives. Not just now — all throughout our lives.”
Visitors could enjoy several activations including a military card writing station, a hop scotch area and a reading nook.
Youngsters were seen participating in activities like flower arranging, egg and cookie decorating, coloring and games.
There was also plenty of live music with child singer Go with YoYo taking the stage and The United States Marine Band, Army Band, Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, Navy Band, and Air Force Band performing throughout the day.
Also at the event were the politician’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and his girlfriend Bettina Anderson as well as his five kids: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.
Melania — who has been splitting her time between D.C., New York City, and Mar-A-Lago — confirmed that she would attend the Egg Roll last week while sending well wishes to staffers on Good Friday.
“As families across the nation gather to celebrate Easter, I extend my gratitude to the dedicated East Wing Staff for their tireless effort in preparing the upcoming White House Easter Egg Roll,” she wrote on X April 18.
“This cherished tradition, rooted in history since 1878, brings joy, storytelling, and laughter to America’s children,” she continued. “I look forward to watching all of the smiles light up this memorable day, on Monday. May this Good Friday inspire hope and faith for all Americans and our friends around the world.”
