Maybe Billy Ray Cyrus no longer has an “achy breaky heart.” The actor Elizabeth Hurley and the famous father sparked dating rumors on Easter Sunday, thanks to a joint Instagram post that pictures the two cuddled up to each other.

In the photo, the 59-year old British star is all smiles in a blue plaid shirt, cowboy hat, and jeans, as 63-year-old Cyrus plants a kiss on her cheek. The two are leaning on a wooden fence in a meadow; in keeping with the Easter theme, Cyrus is also sporting a pair of green bunny ears. The caption of the photo shares a simple message to their combined 4.8 million followers on Instagram: “Happy Easter,” with a red heart.
Hurley and Cyrus had never been romantically linked before posting the Instagram photo. Best known for playing Vanessa Kensington in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), Hurley dated Hugh Grant for over a decade throughout the 1990s before they amicably split in 2000. In 2002, she had a son, Damian Hurley, with Steve Bing, the American businessman and founder of Shangri-La Entertainment. Hurly was then married to the Indian entrepreneur Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011. Shortly after their divorce, Hurley announced her engagement to the Australian cricket player Shane Warne before splitting from him in 2013.
A country singer and television actor, Cyrus was married to Tish Cyrus for 29 years before Tish filed for divorce for a third time in 2022. Together, they have three children: Braison, Noah, and Miley Cyrus, who played a pop star leading a double life in the Disney Channel series as Hannah Montana opposite her father from 2006 to 2011. After announcing his separation from Tish, Billy Ray married Australian singer Firerose, whom he divorced seven months later in June 2024.
Cyrus recently performed at the Liberty Ball at Trump’s inauguration, which sparked speculation of strife within the Cyrus family. Trace Cyrus—Tish’s son from a previous marriage, whom Billy Ray adopted—wrote in an Instagram post shortly after the inauguration that he “barely recognizes” his father. “Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.”
Hurley and Cyrus’s announcement seemingly shocked the masses, with Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert’s comment—“wait…what?”—receiving over 2000 likes. Hurley’s son, Damian, also commented on his mother’s post, posting a red heart emoji. Neither Noah nor Miley Cyrus have commented on their father’s Instagram post as of this publication.
