These cops got fleeced.

Westchester County police were forced to wrangle an unusual runaway — an alpaca that escaped from a nearby trailer and clomped its way onto the streets of the village of Mount Kisco.

“We get all kinds of interesting 911 calls,” the department said on Instagram. “Turns out it was actually an alpaca that was on the lam but still a pretty good initial description compared to some we get. Turns out the alpaca had slipped out of a trailer near Hotel MTK on Pat Reilly Way. Then it made its way over to Kisco Avenue near the Land Rover dealership.”

The furry four-legged escapee was soon rounded up and reunited with its owner.

“We’re taking a guess here, but we think somewhere there’s a kid’s birthday party that went on just as planned,” county police quipped.

The mayhem began when police at the Mount Kisco county stationhouse got a call shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday and set out to investigate the bizarre report.

Police did not say why the cuddly critter was in town.

Alpacas are herd animals that are indigenous to the Andes Mounts in South America, and can be popular at petting zoos and children’s parties because of the docile disposition.

They are considered a close cousin of the llama but are a different species in the camel family.

However, they don’t typically cruise the Big Apple suburbs.
