PHOENIX – Salt River Tubing makes its annual return for the 2025 season next weekend.
The popular summertime staple, located at 9200 North Bush Highway in Mesa, will open for its 45th season on Saturday, April 26. The excursion will close for the year on Sept. 28.
This marks the third year Salt River Tubing has been under new ownership.
When is Salt River Tubing open?
Salt River Tubing will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekdays. Rentals will stop at 2 p.m. each day.
It can take participants anywhere from 90 minutes to five hours to complete their trip.
Three different routes of varying lengths are available to choose from.
All participants are required to be at least eight years old and four feet tall.
How much is Salt River Tubing?
Participants can book reservations online or buy tickets in person. A rental, including a tube and transportation to and from the river, costs $28. Those brining their own tube can purchase just a shuttle ride for $22. Season passes, which include one tube rental per day, cost $195.
A discount for military and first responders is available for in-person rentals only and cannot be added after online purchases are made.
Participants may also opt to tube down the Salt River on their own without a reservation; however, a Tonto Pass is necessary.
Tonto Passes are not sold onsite but instead can be purchased at the following locations:

- Self-service kiosks.
- Local gas stations.
- Local grocery stores.
- Online.
Those making reservations through Salt River Tubing do not need an extra Tonto Pass, it is included with purchase.
Parking is free for all vehicles, regardless of reservation status.
What special event days are there?
Guests are encouraged to celebrate different themes and wear corresponding costumes during the following special event days:
- Mardi Gras Magic on May 10.
- Memorial Day Weekend on May 25-26.
- Salt River Pirates on June 14.
- Super Heroes Splashdown on June 28.
- July 4th Weekend on July 4-6.
- Rockin’ Rodeo on July 19.
- Mega Hawaiian Hula on Aug. 2.
- Spooktacular Halloween on Aug. 16.
- Labor Day Weekend from Aug. 30-Sept. 1.
- National Public Lands Day on Sept. 27.
Also, in September, Salt River Tubing will only be open Friday through Sunday.
