Authorities are searching for suspects and working to confirm if two home invasion robberies that took place overnight in Los Angeles are related.
Preliminary information indicates that one of the incidents occurred just after midnight Saturday at a residence on Otsego Street near Coldwater Canyon Drive in Sherman Oaks.
Video from the scene obtained by KTLA showed a large law enforcement presence in front of the luxury home as a distraught woman holding a baby sat on the curb.
It is believed that while two suspects were ransacking the home, the family barricaded themselves inside a bedroom and called police. What the suspects got away with anything was not immediately clear, and officials could not provide a description or a manner in which they fled the area.
About two hours prior to the Sherman Oaks home invasion, another residence in L.A.’s upscale Beverly Grove neighborhood was hit by thieves.
According to initial reports, three suspects had entered the home on Laurel Avenue while people were inside and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry as well as other valuables.
The suspects had fled the area by the time police arrived and as of 6:30 a.m. Saturday, they remained outstanding. No further information surrounding the incident was immediately available.
No injuries were reported in either incident, and officials are now working to determine whether they are connected.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
