SPOILER ALERT: The story includes details about Episode 815 of ABC’s 9-1-1, “Lab Rats.“

Peter Krause says fans of ABC’s 9-1-1 shouldn’t be surprised by the shocker ending at the close of last night’s episode “Lab Rats.”

Referring to his character Captain Bobby Nash, Krause said in a short interview on ABC’s Good Morning America today, “It would come as no surprise to the viewing audience that Bobby chooses to save Chimney and stoically contains himself in the lab.”

“He was willing to sacrifice himself so that others could see another day,” Krause continued.

Krause went on to say, “I will miss everybody dearly. This was my workplace home for eight years, eight seasons. And I am really going to miss everybody: Angela and the fire team and the crew.”

The former Six Feet Under star offered special praise for costar Angela Bassett, who plays Nash’s wife, police Sgt. Athena Grant.

“I won’t have a relationship like that again on TV,” Krause said. ‘It’s been a fantastic eight years. I’m going to miss her a lot.”

At the end of “Lab Rats,” Krause’s character Nash dies in an underground lab where a fire caused the release of a deadly virus. Bassett’s Athena went to deliver a vial of anti-viral to Nash’s team, one of whom, Chimney (Kenneth Choi), had gotten infected.

After Chimney was saved with the anti-viral, Nash revealed that his air tube had been compromised and he also had become infected. He hid his illness so the only dose of the antidote could go to expectant dad Chimney.
