The iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles has been named the Outdoor Concert Venue of the Year at the 36th annual Pollstar Awards.

The beloved amphitheater, which has served as the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 1922, has now won the award 18 times. In 2021, it also earned Pollstar’s Amphitheater of the Decade honor.

The Hollywood Bowl was recognized with the award, also known as the Red Rocks Award, Wednesday during a ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Known for its scenic setting and wide range of programming, the Bowl hosted more than 100 concerts during its 2024 season, with highlights including Bob Dylan, Beck, Noah Kahan, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, Jungle, James Taylor and Imagine Dragons.

The Hollywood Bowl and the Philharmonic also hosted special presentations, including a Fourth of July fireworks spectacular with Harry Connick Jr., a Boyz II Men-themed fireworks show, and musical performances of beloved film franchise soundtracks.

Comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Burr and Kevin Hart took the stage in 2024, and a number of musicals were performed there, including “Les Misérables” and “Miss Saigon.”

The 2025 summer season at the Hollywood Bowl was announced in February, with performers including “Jaws” in concert, a celebration of composer John Williams, and John Legend.

Single tickets for the summer season go on sale May 6 on hollywoodbowl.com.

The Hollywood Bowl was officially opened to the public in 1922, but its current iconic shell-shaped design has been in place since 1929 and has undergone major renovations and refurbishments in the years since.

Other venues nominated for Outdoor Concert Venue of the Year included Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, and the Greek Theatre in nearby Griffith Park.

Intuit Dome, SoFi Stadium and the Youtube Theater in Inglewood were also nominated in various categories.
