Change is in the air when it comes to your Thursday night streaming schedule.

Our Thursdays were previously occupied by a fun combination of medical dramas — The Pitt, Grey’s Anatomy, and Doctor Odyssey — but The Pitt recently aired its season finale, and both Doc Oddy and Grey’s are set to conclude on May 15. But on the bright side… Hacks is back, and a new romantic western series starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, Ransom Canyon, is streaming on Netflix. So it’s not all bad.

Another Thursday night staple about to take a break? You guessed it… Matlock.

The two-hour season finale of Kathy Bates’ popular legal drama airs tonight (April 17) on CBS. What does the future hold for Matty? Has Matlock been renewed for a second season? Here’s everything you need to know.

The two-part season finale (“Tricks of the Trade”) airs tonight from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Matlock?

Yes! In October 2024, CBS renewed its freshman hit for a second season.

When Does Matlock Return With New Episodes?

No official release date has been announced, but we expect the second season of Matlock to debut in September 2025 on CBS.
