Let’s go down to the movie theater to watch Sinners, the new Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan movie opening in theaters this weekend.
Written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ryan Coogler, who has collaborated with Jordan on many a film (Black Panther, Creed, Fruitvale Station), Sinners is a period piece, an action flick, and a supernatural horror movie all rolled into one. Jordan stars in dual roles as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown in the Southern U.S. in the 1930s. But instead of a welcoming committee, they discover a great evil waiting for them. Also starring Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, Li Jun Li, and Delroy Lindo, Sinners has received almost nothing but rave reviews from critics so far. This sounds like the kind of movie you want to see on the big screen!
That said, if you want to watch the Sinners movie at home, here’s what we know about where to watch the Sinners movie and when we expect to see the Sinners movie streaming on HBO Max.
Where to watch the 2025 Sinners movie:
Right now, Sinners is only available to watch in a movie theater when it opens in theaters on Friday, April 18. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. However, we do expect the Sinners movie to be on streaming eventually.
Is Michael B. Jordan’s Sinners movie streaming on Netflix?
Sinners is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Warner Bros. release, will have a streaming home on the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service, Max (formerly HBO Max). If you want to watch the new Sinners movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Max.
When will Sinners movie be streaming on HBO’s Max?
All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title. Companion, for example, was released on PVOD a little over two weeks after opening in theaters, and will begin streaming on Max on April 18, about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If Sinners follows a similar release pattern, you may see the movie on digital around early May 2025, and streaming on Max around early July 2025.
But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. If you want to see the new Michael B. Jordan movie ASAP, your best is to catch Sinners in theaters.
