The president of El Salvador pulled out all the stops to prove that the man mistakenly deported by the Trump administration is in good health.
Nayib Bukele published Thursday night the first photos of Kilmar Abrego Garcia since he was wrongfully shipped off to El Salvador under President Donald Trump’s massive deportation blitz.
“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture’, now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!” Bukele said in a post on X. “Now that he’s been confirmed healthy, he gets the honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody.”

A series of photos showed a freshly shaved Abrego Garcia donning a Kansas City Chiefs cap and a checkered top as he spoke with Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, who earlier flew to El Salvador to meet the deportee.
“I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance,” Van Hollen said on X. “I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.”
