ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — If you’re looking for a concert that gives the same nostalgic vibes as the CD your middle school crush gifted to you, an upcoming tour date in Albertville will have you covered.
Collective Soul and +LIVE+ are set to perform at Sand Mountain Amphitheater in Albertville, AL, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, as part of a 90s alternative rock lineup.
The event, known as the Summer Unity Tour, will also feature Our Lady Peace and Greylin James Rue.
The 30-date, Live Nation-produced outing is slated to kick off on July 8 with a show at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Wash.
Collective Soul is a 1992 American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of the brothers Ed (lead vocalist) and Dean Roland (rhythm guitarist), Will Turpin (bassist), Johnny Rabb (drummer), and Jesse Triplett (lead guitarist).
In 1995, Collective Soul released a self-titled album, which spent 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and went triple platinum, making it the band’s highest-selling album. According to Billboard, the singles “December,” “The World I Know,” and “Where the River Flowers” each reached number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Chart.
On Record Store Day in 2025, April 12, Collective Soul released the BLENDER album, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, for the first time on Translucent Cobalt vinyl for RSD.
The band +LIVE+ is also headlining the tour with Collective Soul, an American rock band formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984. Best known for their 90s hits “Lightning Crashes” and “I Alone”.
The band is made up of Ed Kowalczyk (lead vocals, guitars), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), Chad Gracey (drums), and Chad Taylor (guitars).
+LIVE+ has sold over 22 million albums worldwide and earned two number-ones for their albums: Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi.
“Lightning Crashes,” which was #1 at Modern Rock radio for ten consecutive weeks on Billboard.
The Album, Throwing Copper reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and eventually surpassed sales of 10 million albums sold, with Rolling Stone honoring the album with placement on their list, “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year.”
