Turns out, you can be awarded if you side with Drake in his battle with Kendrick Lamar. Jamaican Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel recently returned to New York City after a two-decade absence, selling out back-to-back shows following his prison release. Drake honors his return with a custom OVO owl chain to mark Vybz Kartel’s two star-studded sold-out shows at the Barclay Center last week.
The dancehall powerhouse has long been a great influence to Drake’s artistry, from his cadence and lyricism to his unique sound. A few years ago, Drake cited Vybz Kartel as one of his biggest influences in the game. By gifting Worl’ Boss Teacha his own OVO chain, Drake cements Kartel’s imprints in his music. Enlisting Alex Moss New York for the piece, the Camo Owl is “1 of 2” pieces that see The Boy and Kartel have matching pieces. A mixture of white, green and black diamonds, the all-voer camo print is distinctively put together and set on a gold OVO owl, iconic to Drake’s brand.
