At Milan Design Week 2025, Felix Godard Design debuted “Psukhe,” its striking new project that explores the intersection of futuristic fiction and experimental design. Featured as part of the third edition of the LABÒ Cultural Experience, “Psukhe” represents the evolution of Felix Godard’s design philosophy. Best known for his contributions to the automotive industry, such as shaping the interior of Porsche’s first electric car and leading the design of Europe’s first hydrogen-powered sedan, Godard applied his expertise to collectible furniture, blending conceptual storytelling and industrial precision.

Central to the “Psukhe” collection is the Psukhe Armchair, the first creation in a series inspired by Godard’s forthcoming science fiction novel, Psukhetele. Originally envisioned in 2017, the collection bridges the gap between science fiction and tangible design. By combining engineering, industrial craftsmanship and narrative elements, Godard challenges conventional design boundaries, crafting pieces that are as functional as they are futuristic.

The project highlights two distinct color concepts: Blue Episteme and Nous White. The former, inspired by the Greek idea of knowledge, features soft ash blue with subtle grays and cyan highlights, complemented by felted wool trim and automotive-grade finishes for a composed, monolithic presence. In contrast, Nous White, derives its roots from the Greek concept of perception. It blends delicate lavender and metallic blue with fine mesh trims and matte textures, evoking a tactile, ethereal quality.

The creation process for “Psukhe” draws heavily from automotive design methodologies. Each piece begins as a pencil sketch and undergoes digital modeling, followed by full-scale hard-foam prototyping. Structural integrity, balance, materiality and proportions are rigorously tested and refined, resulting in designs that are both precise and imaginative. This meticulous approach highlights the synergy between advanced technology and artistic innovation, establishing a new standard in the world of collectible design.
