There’s nothing cuter than watching a baby learn something new; whether it’s a human or animal baby they’re all cute! Sky Noris is a nature enthusiast and photographer who loves all animals, and they seem to love him, too.

Sky shared a video to Instagram recently that had the internet talking. In the video, he shows a tiny baby otter learning to swim. He was in the right place at the right time, and was happy to help him out!

Where do I sign up to get this job?! Sky’s living the dream not only finding but also gaining the trust of a baby otter who comes directly to him after their first big adventure! I wonder if he bribed him with treats!

What did viewers of the video all love? Those tiny otter squeaks! @tk_ocean wondered, “How do I buy that squeaking sound?!” @al.leycat13 added, “Oh, he’s so squealing happy, and it makes me happy too!!” And another thing that everybody agreed about was that this little otter was absolutely adorable!

Cool Otter Facts

Otters are so fun to watch, and many of us have accounts like these saved on our feeds for regular doses of serotonin, because they’re cute, too! At birth, river otters weigh less than a pound (around 5 ounces or so), but they’ll grow to be big – they’ll measure 3-4 feet long and weigh anywhere from 11 to 30 pounds.

As they grow, pups spend more time in the water, learning to hunt and play with their siblings. And they have no problem spending most of their time in the water; adult river otters can hold their breath underwater for up to 8 minutes and dive to a depth of 60 feet.

River otters like this little guy hunt for fish, crabs, snails, frogs, worms, and turtles. After every meal, they spend time grooming and washing themselves. They’re very clean animals! While it seems like they spend most of their time hunting for food in the water, they actually spend about two-thirds of their time on land, including when they sleep.

These otters stay busy under and above the water and on land. They’re fun to watch, and they’re adorable, too.
