Cockatoos are nosy. They stick their beaks in anything and everything they can. They like to know what we’re doing, so much so that they might even literally ask, “what are you doing?” if you teach them to.
When it comes to dinner time, one Cockatoo is not letting his mama get a moment of peace. The bird nibbled along, and he can’t understand for the life of him why his mom didn’t want him taste-testing:
The Parrot Lady knows that resisting is pointless in this case. Sweet Pea the Cockatoo is going to get what she wants, no matter what!

Sweet Pea is a bonafide star. From barking at trick-or-treaters to chatting up the refrigerator repairman, she does it all! She’s hilarious, and she knows that her mom wouldn’t be the Parrot Lady without her. Naturally, she takes advantage.
She loves to join mom for dinner. Eating is fun, and mom so often gets to eat yummy things that Sweet Pea doesn’t get. For example: chicken. She loves chicken for some reason. She’s apparently not fond of carrots, though: when mom offers her one, she refuses!
She does love corn, though. It’s easy to hold in her little claw!
Sweet Pea joins her mom for almost everything she does, and her mom genuinely enjoys having her. Even when she’s eating her dinner, it’s fun to eat with someone!
Cockatoos can eat some cooked food: in fact, it’s recommended for harder foods like carrots. In moderation, a little bit of carrot or even some cooked chicken is a fine treat, so long as you don’t feel weird about feeding it to them.
Any food you give them needs to be plain, unseasoned, and not cooked in any kind of oil. They act like babies, and they get fed like them, too.
Sweet Pea’s dinner date with mom is certainly one for the books. I’m happy they like to eat together, and even happier that it’s so fun to watch!
