When you were a child, did you have a dream or an idea of what you wanted to be when you grew up? Many kids don’t hold themselves or their dreams back to what is realistic, with some saying they’re going to grow up to be a superhero or a princess.

Well, turns out that happens with dogs, too, because no one in the world can convince this adorable Golden Retriever that she is not, in fact, a fire truck.

Meet Ruby, a cute Golden Retriever who believes with all her heart that she is a fire truck. When she hears the local fire department, she transforms!

In the clip, we hear the fire truck sirens in the distance. And Ruby immediately knows what she hears—tilting her sweet head from side to side first before joining in with the trucks and turning on her siren.

“My Ruby helping the local fire dept with their sirens. She has been doing this since she was a puppy,” the video’s caption reads.

In the comments, other people were very taken by this gentle soul who seems to be destined to be a helper and do what she can from where she is. And yes, you can’t convince me that she’s not a full-blown, 100% perfect fire truck.

One person wrote, “My Lab does this to fire trucks and ambulance sirens. also sings the song of his people when he hears the Golden Girls theme for some reason.”Another shared, “Firefighter here i love when dogs do this.”

Someone else added, “My Chocolate Labs did this, too!! And we lived near an emergency room, so there were a lot of sirens!”

Other comments included, “I heard that they howl to make the siren noise not hurt their sensitive ears,” “The call of the wild. So interesting that dogs do this,” “Studied the sound then did the sound,” “Just trying to help clear the way,” and “The little head tilts, too.”

In a previous video shared to TikTok, Ruby’s parents shared a then-and-now video with a picture of the beautiful dog now, wearing bunny years, and a photo of when she first joined the family. She’s come such a long way.

I’m thankful for your hard work, Ruby the Rescue Ranger. And I’m sure the community feels much safer and protected knowing that you’re there ready to run your sirens whenever a fire truck is needed.
