Even with winter slowly—but surely—becoming a faded memory, blankets are a cozy comfort year-round. There’s a reason why things that calm you down or make you feel safe are called “security blankets.” Comfy throws have the power to instantly make your day better, despite the weather outside. And with spring coming up, a knitted blanket with some holes in it should do the trick. Lucky for you, Aldi is dropping a cozy throw blanket this coming week that fits that description. Plus it looks a lot like Pottery Barn and Wayfair styles that are almost nine times the price.
From April 16 to April 22, Aldi is selling a Kirkton House Coastal Throw for $19.99 in the Aldi Finds aisles of local U.S. stores. It’s a pretty standard blanket and as Aldi’s site says, it’s a “cozy and comfortable knitted design.”

Kirkton House Coastal Throw, $19.99 at Aldi
The knitted nature of this blanket gives it a nice breeze thanks to the little holes throughout, so it’s a great blanket for those cold summer nights or cool spring afternoons. Or, as the name suggests, on a coastal getaway where it might get a little chilly.

This blanket is knitted with yarn that’s made of 100% polyester and comes in three colors: navy blue, light blue and beige. It’s also a standard throw blanket dimension, measuring 50 inches by 60 inches. And as the site says, it’s “easy” to clean, either by spot-cleaning it or wiping off any messes.
Colossal Ribbed Handknit Throw, $142.99-$179 at Pottery Barn
As we mentioned before, this Aldi throw blanket is very similar to others out there, including Pottery Barn’s Colossal Ribbed Handknit Throw. This one comes in three colors—white, ivory and chambray—with the white costing full price at $179, and the other colors on sale for $142.99.
There are a few big differences between this one and Aldi’s. For one, this one has way chunkier yarn, so that the knitted rows look bigger. And the yarn used is 100% acrylic. But it is a bit smaller, measuring 44 inches by 56 inches. Overall, it has a very similar look to the Kirkton House blanket.
Chenille Chunky Knit Throw – Madison Park, $49.72-$75 (originally $109.99) at Wayfair
Aldi’s throw blanket also looks a lot like Wayfair’s Chenille Chunky Knit Throw by Madison Park. It comes in six colors and right now, they’re all on sale between the prices of $49.72 and $75 (they were all originally $109.99). This blanket is almost identical to the Kirkton House throw. It’s the same size—50 inches by 60 inches—and made from 100% polyester.
With that said, Aldi’s Kirkton House Coastal Throw blanket is well worth checking out considering it’s nearly the same as one that costs almost four times as much.
