As one of the beloved stars from The Big Bang Theory, Simon Helberg is best known as nerdy engineer Howard Wolowitz — but the actor doesn’t look anything like his iconic character anymore.
The 44-year-old actor’s famous bowl cut and clean-shaven face were nowhere to be seen when Helberg attended the AMC Networks Upfront in New York on Wednesday, April 9.
In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Helberg sported a salt-and-pepper beard and a longer, curly hairstyle. He wore a denim blazer over a rust-colored button-down shirt with a brown striped tie, adding a pair of dark brown pants and beige suede loafers with blue laces.
As Deadline reported in Feburary, Helberg recently joined the cast of AMC+’s untitled Jonathan Glatzer Silicon Valley drama alongside Billy Magnussen and Sarah Goldberg.
Helberg will play the billionaire CEO and founder of an AI company in the series, which is “set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs and cutthroat private high schools.”
In addition to The Big Bang Theory, Helberg has appeared in the comedy series MADtv and films such as Old School, Good Night, and Good Luck, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
Helberg married actress Jocelyn Towne in 2007, with the couple going on to welcome two children: daughter Adeline and son Wilder.
