These Are Alan Ritchson’s 2 Favorite High-Protein Snacks to Build Muscle

Alan Ritchson recently gave YouTuber Thomas DeLauer an updated fridge tour, revealing his favorite high-protein hacks—and an unexpected favorite.

Last year, Ritchson gave a fridge tour to Men’s Health, sharing some of his favorite high-protein snacks and sweet treats. Since then and with the premiere of Reacher’s third season, his fridge has undergone a bit of a transformation.

Right in the center of the fridge sits a large Costco tray of shrimp—one of Ritchson’s go-to high-protein snacks that’s easy to eat with zero meal prep time.

“I’ve just been mowing down the shrimp. So if I get hungry, I just have like 10 shrimp and move about my day,” Ritchson says.

As DeLauer comments, shrimp is packed with minerals like selenium, which supports the immune system, and phosphorus for strong bones. It also provides zinc for immune health and iodine to help with metabolism.

During his last fridge tour, Ritchson revealed another simple high-protein snack he relies on: deli meat tacos. He’s still sticking with this combo, preferring Boar’s Head ham and turkey—though he has quite a range of brands in his fridge.

To make the deli meat tacos, all you do is take two slices of cheese layered on sliced deli meat, then add a bit of mayonnaise and mustard. Roll it up, and you’ve made yourself a Reacher-approved snack.

Ritchson’s fridge is stocked with protein-packed options like plenty of cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and meat sticks. He also loves hot dogs and keeps plenty on hand—a habit he blames on his kids.
