Dashcam video shows a suspected DUI driver crashing into a big rig and then spending several minutes doing doughnuts on the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park before slamming head-on into a concrete wall Wednesday afternoon.
The wild scene recorded by Rigo Obezo and shared with KTLA unfolded shortly after 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway west of Baldwin Park Boulevard.
The video shows Obezo approaching the scene of a 2021 BMW 750 already driving in circles on the freeway before crashing into the side of the semi-truck directly in front of his vehicle.
The BMW then spends the next 3 and a half minutes continuing in circles and skidding out of the freeway before making contact with a retaining wall a couple of times. Eventually, the BMW is seen driving head-on into the barrier.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Jamel Price of Victorville, then got out of the vehicle and rolled around a few times on the freeway before being taken into custody by a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer who witnessed the event.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene and took primary control of the investigation.
The CHP later determined that drugs were a contributing factor in the crash, a news release stated.
There was no word on whether the big rig driver reported any injuries from the crash.
