In her first interview since becoming second lady, Usha Vance said Vice President JD Vance‘s world is “very lonely.”

Do you hear that? It’s the world’s smallest violin.

She told the Times her husband is so busy that most of their chats take place over text these days. “I don’t know that he’s asking me for advice so much as it can be a very lonely, lonely world not to share with someone.”

Usha also revealed they met at Yale in a discussion group called “social decline in white America” — lots to unpack there — and complained about the “imagined narratives” surrounding the booing that she and JD faced when they attended a recent concert.

Obviously, the internet had a field day over Mr. Lonely! Here’s what people are saying:

Responses were gathered from Reddit threads here and here.

1.“Has he tried visiting a furniture store?”

—u/parkerplotkin

2.“Did he say thank you to his friends?”

—u/GenosseGeneral

“They weren’t wearing suits, so.”

—u/Dosanaya

3.“Spoiler alert: being an unlikable asshole and condoning the behavior of madmen results in no friends.”

—u/PaladinsAreReal

4.“Oh no, poor JD Vance. Making money off the same taxpayers he’s demonizing while pushing to take away the benefits they paid into and firing many Americans. His kids will be in his rich buddies’s private, expensive schools that they’ve been pushing for taxpayers to pay for. But JD Vance feels lonely? Wow, so sad.”

—u/Ok-View-3258

5.“This dickhead is a millennial; he’s 40 years old. He has no excuses for being a piece of shit other than personal greed, so for that, he can go fuck himself forever. It’s a real shame that the first millennial at the highest level of politics is such a fucking turd.”

—u/civil_politician

6.“He can quit and therefore be less lonely. Eff Usha and her complicity. You shame the rest of us for being a complete sell-out.”

—u/jewelsofeastwest

7.“Is the cure to male loneliness resigning from your elected position and leaving the country forever?”

—u/500owls

8.“There are few things I can think of that JD is rightly deserving of. Lonely is one of them. And Usha can fuck right off. They’re both garbage people.”

—u/SigmaK78

9.“I’m sure he can get Tesla to make him a friend.”

—u/ReclusiveReviews

10.“Trump must’ve banned him from touching the White House furniture.”

—u/NIN10DOXD

11.“Lonely tears making his mascara run down his face.”

—u/YgramulTheMany

12.“My response to her statement:”

—u/Zack_Raynor

13.“I have no empathy for someone who would deliberately cause harm to others and take joy from it. JD Vance gets nothing out of me.”

—u/housepanther2000

14.“‘I wipe my ass with your feelings’ —Tony Soprano.”

—u/Lumpy-Actuator6776

15.And finally, “He will be discarded soon by Trump, and MAGA loyalists will turn on him. Democrats will eternally hate him, and he will live a life of obscurity, only a small footnote in history. A nobody who did nothing of note but bend and kiss Trump’s ring for a position with no real power.”

—u/Black-Zero

What do you think about JD’s world being “very lonely?” LMK in the comments below!
