Fans may be devastated after the 1923 season finale, but there’s plenty of Western dramas to keep you satiated until Taylor Sheridan returns with yet another Paramount+ series exploring the Dutton family lore.

The critically acclaimed series follows the Dutton family as they struggle to maintain their ranch in the 1920s, facing crime, the oncoming Great Depression, and more. 1923 offered many of the things that made fans fall in love with Yellowstone: A stellar cast and sprawling, compelling drama that kept you wanting more.

However, Sheridan will soon be tackling a new generation of Duttons. A new Yellowstone prequel series, titled 1944, will follow the Dutton family and the Yellowstone Ranch through the events of World War II. 1923 Season 2 ended on a bittersweet note that perfectly sets up the next series as Spencer Dutton’s (Brandon Sklenar) wife Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) dies after giving birth to their son, John Dutton II, who could possibly be the protagonist of the next series.

The Yellowstone-verse is the gift that keeps on giving. But if you’re in the mood for more gun-slinging cowboys, look no further. Here are seven Western series that you can stream now.

  1. Justified

    Everett Collection

For those looking for a long binge watch, Justified is a completed FX series streaming now on Hulu starring Timothy Olyphant as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Givens is a tough-as-nails deputy whose unconventional methods for justice get him reassigned to the county he thought he left behind in his youth. Olyphant faces off against Walton Goggins, who plays his rival and dirty politician Boyd Crowler.

  2. 1883

If you’ve already finished 1923, why not go further back in time with Sheridan’s other Yellowstone spin-off, 1883? Starring Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and more, 1883 follows the Dutton family as they embark on a torrid journey through the West to escape poverty and find promise in Montana.

  3. Outer Range

    Richard Foreman/Amazon Prime Video

For fans looking for something unique – if incomplete – look no further. Prime Video‘s Outer Range is a stellar series, starring Josh Brolin as a stoic rancher with a secret. In this broody neo-Western, rancher Royal Abbott discovers a mysterious black hole on the outskirts of his land in Wyoming. Royal will stop at nothing to keep his loved ones and his enemies from learning of its existence, but the arrival of a mysterious woman throws a wrench in his plans. The series was canceled after two seasons but it is still worth tuning in.

  4. American Primeval

Netflix‘s American Primeval is a limited series set in 1857 that dramatizes the brutal expansion of the American West, mired by crime, illness, and violence. This gory series pulls no punches as it follows a widow and her son on their voyage out West, where they encounter cannibals, wolves, and cruel bounty hunters. Starring Betty Gilpin, Taylor Kitsch, and Shawnee Pourier.

  5. Landman

Landman is the latest critically acclaimed series from Taylor Sheridan. Billy Bob Thornton stars as a crisis management exec and fixer for an oil company who grapples with the local politics of West Texas while juggling his own family responsibilities. Adapted from the hit Texas Monthly podcast Boomtown, Landman became one of the most-watched series available on streaming in 2024. It’s not necessarily part of the Yellowstone universe, but Landman has many of the factors that made fans fall in love with 1883: Drama, a star-studded cast, and unrelenting tension.

  6. Deadwood

Set in the lawless town of Deadwood, South Dakota, the hit HBO series follows a cast of misfits looking to get rich quick during the gold rush. Deadwood only ran for three seasons but it’s long been praised for its pioneering portrayal of the West. The eight-time Emmy winning series Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, and more.

  7. Godless

In Godless, Roy Goode, a ruthless outlaw on the lam, finds unexpected solace in La Belle, New Mexico, a town ruled by women. But Goode’s arrival changes the lives of the women living in the peaceful town forever when his former mentor Frank Griffin catches wind. This limited Netflix series had a memorable run, earning 12 Emmy nominations when it premiered in 2017.
