A suspect was arrested after a man was found shot to death in Riverside County.
The suspect was identified as George Eddie Steven Thompson, 39, of Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 7, Lake Elsinore sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of North Poe Street at 11 p.m.
Arriving deputies found the victim, Marcus Bryant, 37, of Hemet, lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite medical aid by first responders, Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect had fled the area before authorities arrived. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit began investigating the case.
During the investigation, multiple people were detained and interviewed. Detectives later identified Thompson as the suspected gunman.
Thompson was arrested and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for murder and a felony weapon enhancement.
