Have you been feeling like Bravo needs a little more youth in its unscripted lineup? Good news. Next Gen NYC takes the network’s tried-and-true reality formula and applies it to a cast of Zoomers just trying to make it in New York City. If by “just trying to make it” you mean living off of your wealthy mom’s credit card. Some of the cast literally grew up with Bravo cameras, like Gia Giudice. Others are unknown outside of very select and specific Manhattan circles.
So, without further ado, here is everything we know about Next Gen NYC.
What’s the premise?
To be honest, the premise of Next Gen is pretty similar to the premises of most Bravo reality shows. The difference is that this time, the group of friends that the cameras are following around aren’t Housewives-age and they aren’t working in the service industry like on Vanderpump Rules or any of the Below Deck series.
Next Gen NYC will document the goings-on of a group of 10 fairly privileged 20-somethings, some of whom are the progeny of current and former Real Housewives, as they attempt to navigate life in the Big Apple. Per the press release, “Next Gen NYC follows a tangled web of friends raised in the spotlight—or at least close enough for good lighting—as they stumble into adulthood one brunch, breakup and spontaneous decision at a time.”
Who’s in the cast?
Bravo superfans are sure to recognize at least a few of the Next Gen stars. The cast includes Ariana Biermann and Riley Burruss, daughters of Atlanta Housewives Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kandi Burruss, respectively. The cast also includes Hudson McLeroy, Biermann’s longtime boyfriend. Gia Giudice, the oldest of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice’s four daughters, is also in the cast, as is Brooks Marks, whose mother, Meredith Marks, stars on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. And don’t worry, those famous parents will all at least make an appearance or two.
But the Next Gen stars also include several young adults whose parents aren’t already Bravo-lebrities. Ava Dash, Emira D’Spain, Shai Fruchter, Georgia McCann, and Charlie Zakkour are the reality newcomers rounding out the cast.
When does it air?
The series premieres on Bravo on June 3 at 9 p.m. ET, and will be available to stream on Peacock the next day.
Is there a trailer?
As a matter of fact, there is! And it promises all the drama, pettiness, and out-of-touch zaniness we’ve come to expect from our unscripted Bravo shows. As McCann notes near the beginning of the clip, “This friend group is honestly a beautiful, hot mess.”
The trailer also teases some Real Housewives cameos. In particular, it looks like Brooks and his mom are still as close as they appear on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. “My mom and I have a tumultuous work relationship,” Brooks drawls at one point. And when Meredith starts to argue, he deadpans, “You fired me last week.”
