Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are returning for the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, but Brandy Norwood‘s future wasn’t clear.

Norwood played Hewitt’s bestie in the sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and her reprisal was uncertain.

In a new interview, director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson teased that Norwood might be returning to the slasher franchise.

When asked about Norwood’s return, Robinson told People, “You’ll have to go see the movie.”

Norwood played Karla Wilson in the 1998 sequel. Karla was Julia’s (Hewitt) college bestie who survived the events of the follow-up movie.

While promoting the Front Room, Norwood was asked about returning to the new sequel more than 25 years after the original film was released in 1997.

“I heard some things about,” Norwood told Entertainment Tonight. “So, hopefully.”

The Moesha alum said she had been contacted about reprising her role, but didn’t confirm if she had been cast.
