Severe weather returns to Middle Tennessee on Thursday, as most of the region is under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. Storms are anticipated to peak from 2-10 p.m., reported National Weather Service Meteorologist Samuel Herron.
The severe threat should mainly be a focus during the afternoon and early evening hours, said the weather service. Storms will bring along the potential for damaging winds of around 60 mph, large hail and a low chance for tornadoes.
Cooler, more stable weather returns Friday and into the weekend. Temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s Friday through Sunday and highs are expected to reach the upper 70s to lower 80s on Monday.
The next chance of rain will occur on Tuesday as a cold front approaches from the north, said the weather service.
