The Brewers took Game 1 on Thursday 1-0, with Sal Frelick hitting an RBI single off Nick Lodolo in the fourth inning to provide the game’s only run. It marked the third 1-0 loss in a row for the Reds, the first time that has happened since 1960. Nestor Cortes earned the win, going six innings with six strikeouts.
In the second game, the Brewers won again, this time 3-2. They went up 1-0 in the second on a Garrett Mitchell RBI single, then Brice Turange hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
In this third game, Cincinnati will look to get back on track by sending Brady Singer to pitch. He’s 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and eight strikeouts. Milwaukee will use Elvin Rodriguez, who is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA with three strikeouts.
