A crash in downtown Los Angeles near the bustling fashion district reportedly injured several people, including children.
Details are limited and it’s unclear what exactly happened, though footage of the incident posted to the Citizen App shows a minivan crashed into a structure along the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 12th Street near Santee Alley, an outdoor shopping venue in the area.
Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene at around 3:15 p.m. and could be seen cordoning the area off with yellow tape.
At least one person was seen in the care of LAFD medical personnel at the crash site.
Preliminary reports suggested that there were seven patients, four adults and three children, though KTLA has yet to have that information confirmed by authorities.
It is also unclear just how serious the injuries were.
In footage of the crash aftermath, the minivan doesn’t appear to have sustained any significant damage, at least to the vehicle’s passenger side, which is all that was visible in the video.
It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision and whether the driver of the minivan is facing any potential charges.
KTLA has reached out to the police and fire departments and is awaiting additional information.
