A Ventura County man was arrested for repeatedly harassing a 13-year-old girl, authorities said.
The suspect was identified as Gerardo Juarez Reyes, 46, of Meiners Oaks, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
In November 2024, the 13-year-old victim said she was being harassed by a man when she walked home from school in Meiners Oaks, an unincorporated area of Ojai.
She reported the harassment to her mother who notified authorities. Despite an extensive investigation, the suspect was never found.
In March 2025, the girl said she was once again being harassed by the same man whenever she walked home from school.
Ojai deputies and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Crime Analysis Unit investigated the case and were able to identify Reyes as the suspect.
Reyes was arrested on two counts of child annoyance. No details on what Reyes may have said to the girl during the alleged harassments were released.
“The Sheriff’s Office/Ojai Police Station would like to remind the public to stay alert when walking or biking in the unincorporated areas and to report any suspicious activity to Sheriff’s Dispatch,” authorities said.
Anyone with further information on the case can call the Sheriff Dispatch at 805-654-9511 or simply call 911.
