The Philadelphia Phillies will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday for the second straight day at Citizens Bank Park.
In the series’ first game, the Phillies handed the Dodgers their first loss of the season, taking the 3-2 victory on Friday. Tommy Edman hit a two-run home run for the Dodgers in the ninth inning, but that was the only offense the team could manage.
Jesus Luzardo pitched seven innings for the Phillies, allowing two hits and striking out eight batters. Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh had RBIs for the team. The team’s other run came via a throwing error that allowed Trea Turner to score after stealing third.
On Saturday, the Dodgers will send Roki Sasaki to the mound. He has a 5.79 ERA with four strikeouts this season. The Phillies will counter with Aaron Nola, who has struggled thus far with a 0-1 record and an 8.44 ERA with four strikeouts.
