Joy Behar might be more than a decade older than Whoopi Goldberg, but she will forever give little sister energy when it comes to their interactions on The View.
On this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, Goldberg swatted Behar away as she tried to tickle her.
“Welcome back,” Goldberg said when the show returned from commercial break. But before she could introduce their guests, Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate, Goldberg turned to scold one of her co-hosts. “If you don’t stop touching me, I swear to [God].”
While we didn’t see who Goldberg was talking to, we were eventually led to believe that she was speaking to Behar when the red-headed comedian said, “I recently found out that Whoopi is very ticklish. Just saying. Watch.”
That’s when Behar leaned across Sara Haines and tried to stick her fingers into Goldberg’s armpit to prove her point. Instead, she ended up hitting the longtime moderator in the boob.
“Ow!” Goldberg exclaimed as she swatted Behar’s hand away and clutched her chest. “I know this is gonna come as a shock. That was my breast! She just pushed it onto the other side.”
As the co-hosts and the audience burst into hysterics, Goldberg quickly tried to get everyone back on track. “Listen! We have guests,” she reminded the room, before bringing the Dying for Sex co-stars out to the Hot Topics table.
While Goldberg did not seem thrilled with Behar’s antics this morning, she was able to crack a smile once all was said and done. After all, the two women have been good friends and co-workers for decades. With the exception of a brief hiatus in 2013, Behar has been a staple at the Hot Topics table since The View premiered in 1997. Goldberg, for her part, joined as moderator in 2007.
The only things that’s surprising is that it took Behar this long to find out Goldberg’s weakness!
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
