Jenna Bush Hager was put in the hot seat by Today guest host Olivia Munn, who asked her a rather “personal question” about her sex life on the air.
The co-hosts were discussing Maury Povich and Connie Chung who recently made headlines for insinuating they have sex every Sunday. Munn wasted no time in pressing the Today host about whether she and her husband could relate.
“I know this is a personal question I have to ask, but do you?” Munn asked Bush Hager. “Do you schedule?”
Bush Hager seemed to see it coming, but that did not make answering Munn’s awkward question any easier. “Do I schedule? Now, heres the thing…,” she began, earning a laugh from the Today stage crew. “When you have multiple children – you’ll see – sometimes you have to. You kind of have to. I don’t love it, but otherwise it don’t happen the way it used to because there’s people everywhere and they’re pulling on you. How about you?”
But Munn was not interested in talking about her sex life with her comedian hubsand John Mulaney. Instead, she took a page from Chung’s book and pretended to lock her lips and throw away the key, as the longtime journalist did on the podcast with Povich during their naughty conversation.
When Munn refused to answer, Bush Hager pointed out, “You’re still like newlywed-y so you’re in that phase [of], ‘Okay well just call me when you’re putting on Frozen for the 14th time!’”
The Your Friends and Neighbors star clarified, “No, I’m not judging. I’m just not talking.”
Munn then explained that she once found herself in a “situation” with an ex-boyfriend after she shared a bit too much about their sex life on Andy Cohen‘s Watch What Happens Live.
“I didn’t really know how to answer it, and then my ex at the time was like, ‘You gotta go on Twitter and rectify it!’” she told Bush Hager. “I think I was being truthful and then I tweeted, it was a whole thing… I’m not adding to that today.”
Munn did not name the partner in question, but she could be talking about quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The couple made headlines in 2014 when she told Cohen they don’t have sex on game days.
“There’s not a rule, but it just doesn’t happen because there’s other things to focus on,” she said at the time.
The comment reportedly caused a huge rift between the NFL star and his parents, leading them to become estranged.
Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
