Sara Haines is still struggling to find privacy in her home two years after she said her young children have “absolutely” seen her “tatas.”

On this morning’s episode of The View, the ladies discussed what age parents should stop letting their children see them in the nude.

“My kids do not knock. We talk about privacy but we have that conversation while I’m sitting on the toilet and they’re standing there with me,” Haines, who shares three children with her husband Max, said.

The co-host insisted that she’s not “[running] around nude,” rather she’s usually putting on “lotions” when her kids come barging into the bathroom. While this may seem unconventional to many parents, Haines explained why she doesn’t mind her kids seeing her naked.

“I don’t want my kids to feel that they need to cover up, especially as young kids,” she said. “I breastfed. My kids didn’t sexualize me, society did. They used to eat from my breasts. They will ask questions still to this day, they’ll walk in, they don’t stare at me while I’m there, they talk about how they’re fighting with someone and they hit someone. I’m like, ‘I’ll be out in a minute.’”

“But I don’t want them to feel ashamed of their bodies, either,” she continued. “I’m sure there’s a time that comes where it’s weird but I think you’ll feel that as a parent but right now there are no private doors.”

Meanwhile, Alyssa Farah Griffin thought it would be “traumatic” for pubescent kids to see their parents naked. And Sunny Hostin quoted a psychotherapist who claimed “you should not allow your kids to see you naked ages nine and up.”

Whoopi Goldberg, for her part, had some blunt advice for Haines.

“Knock on the door! Do not ever walk into any door before you knock,” she said. “You can get shocked. You can get hurt doing that. Knock on the door and see if someone gives you permission. This is 101.”

Haines then chimed in, “I welcome any training of my young children to get them to knock on the door,” to which Goldberg replied, “Send ‘em to my house. They’ll never walk in on you again!”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
