Morgan Wallen‘s recent appearance on Saturday Night Live took a surprising turn as he made an unusual exit, leaving fans puzzled. On March 29, the country singer performed as the musical guest alongside guest host Mikey Madison.
Wallen performed two songs, âIâm The Problemâ and âJust in Case,â but it was his actions at the end of the show that caught everyone’s attention.
During the traditional show finale, where the full cast typically joins the musical guest onstage, Wallen appeared visibly uncomfortable. He did not speak, leaving Madison to address the audience with, âThank you so much to Morgan Wallen. I had a wonderful time. Thank you all.â
Wallen gave a brief salute to the audience, shared a quick hug with Madison, and then exited the stage, bypassing the usual hugs and moments with the cast. A few of the SNL regulars seemed to notice his sudden departure, glancing offstage as the credits rolled.

It’s unclear whether Wallen returned backstage to say goodbye to the cast or join the afterparty. Soon after the show concluded, the singer, who hails from Tennessee, posted an Instagram story featuring a photo of a plane at the airport with the caption, âGet me to Godâs country.â
Fans took to social media, commenting on Wallenâs swift exit.
“Hmm, so having never missed an episode of SNL in decades, Morgan Wallen giving a quick wave, then walking off the stage during goodbyes was odd,â one viewer wrote on X.
âWow, Morgan Wallen just walking off the stage during the credits? In decades of watching SNL, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that,â another viewer echoed.
Another posted: “Morgan Wallen said I didnât want to be here either. Thatâs exactly what the show gets for having him in the first place. #SNL.”
Some fans speculated that Wallenâs behavior could have been a response to not feeling entirely welcomed by the SNL cast.
This appearance marked Wallenâs return to Saturday Night Live almost five years after he was disinvited for violating COVID-19 safety protocols. In October 2020, he was caught partying in Alabama without a mask just days before his scheduled SNL performance. While his initial invite was rescinded, Wallen returned to the show two months later, according to People.
