The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the top teams in the NFL over the past few seasons on the back of quarterback Lamar Jackson and head coach John Harbaugh.
That should continue now with both under contract until 2028. Harbaugh was given a brand-new three-year extension, which will keep him under contract through the 2028 season.

The Ravens finished as the third seed in the AFC, but given how strong the team looked relative to the top two teams, they were still clear top contenders in the AFC and for the Super Bowl title.

As long as Lamar and Harbaugh are around, the team should remain competitive. The franchise seems to agree based on both of their long-term extensions.
The Ravens also have some other strong long-term pieces, such as wide receiver Zay Flowers and safety Kyle Hamilton. If the Ravens continue to add good young pieces in the draft, they have a chance to field a talented team while having plenty of money to re-sign other key pieces.
A big piece the Ravens added last offseason was running back Henry, who at 31 years old, remains a rare talent at his size. Especially considering his age and running backs typically fading around 31, Henry is proving to exist outside of that stereotype.
Their competition in the AFC North is also up in the air, as the Bengals have all their money tied up into a few players and aren’t sure if they will keep top pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
The Steelers have no idea who their starting quarterback will be next season as of now but do have a great defense.
The Browns are a mess as usual, with no clear starting quarterback as well, and no huge pieces besides Myles Garrett, who at one point asked for a trade.
The Ravens will always have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl as long as their division rivals lag behind. They’ve won the division each of the last two seasons, and have a good chance to win the next three years as well.
If things don’t go as well as hoped, the 2028-2029 offseason will be a fascinating one, as Lamar and Harbaugh could be on the move. That would certainly be the worst-case scenario though, and it more likely seems at this point both are Ravens for life.
Now that Harbaugh is fully locked down through 2028 along with Lamar Jackson, the Ravens are a team that the rest of the NFL needs to watch out for as top threats to win a Super Bowl championship.
