“It’s Nice to Have a Friend” like Taylor Swift.
Selena Gomez revealed the pop star broke down in tears when she first heard Gomez’s 2019 single, “Lose You to Love Me.”
In a preview of her interview with iHeartRadio, the “Only Murders in the Building” star shared that she previews her new music for Swift before releasing it to the world.
“She definitely will say, ‘That’s one’s okay. I think that one’s good,’ It’s just very helpful,” Gomez shared while promoting her new album, “I Said I Love You First.”
Gomez, 32, said she loves “people who are honest.”
“Then there are other knockouts like when I played her ‘Lose You to Love Me’ before it came out and she and her amazing mom started to cry and then I started crying. It’s very sweet.”
“I value her opinion so much, because she’s super honest,” the “Come & Get It” singer, who has long been close friends with the 14-time Grammy winner, shared. “I like to see what she thinks.”
“She’s done the same, I would never be like, ‘That’s a terrible song,’ because she’s so freaking good!”
A rep for Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Just as many fans believe Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me” song is about her 2018 split from Justin Bieber, many were quick to speculate that her new album includes a few call outs to her ex-boyfriend.
“You’re so embarrassing / Go cry when no one’s watchin’ / I can’t imagine it / How does it feel to be forgotten (Ah), forgotten? (Ah-ah),” Gomez sings on “How Does It Feel To Be Forgotten,” which many believe is some shade thrown toward the “Sorry” singer, who has been seen crying on social media lately.
Some also believe that her song “Young and Hotter Than Me” — in which she sings about an ex she wishes she “never loved” — alludes to Justin’s relationship with wife Hailey Bieber, whom he married months after Justin and Gomez’s final breakup.
It appears Gomez’s newest album, which was a collaboration with her fiancé, Benny Blanco, was also a hit with Swift.
The “Fortnight” songstress, 35, took to Instagram over the weekend — after it was released on Friday — to gush over her gal pal’s project.
“@selenagomez & @bennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH,” Swift wrote, excitingly adding, “OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD.”
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star reposted Swift’s message to her page, adding, “Love you, Tay.”
