U.S. Republican House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene clashed with a British journalist during a press conference on Wednesday, telling her to “go back” to the United Kingdom.

The confrontation occurred when Sky News reporter Martha Kelner attempted to ask Greene, a vociferous ally of President Donald Trump, about the so-called Signalgate scandal, in which senior officials from the Trump administration used the encrypted messaging app to discuss a planned military strike in Yemen.

A journalist, Jeffrey Goldberg from The Atlantic, was inadvertently added to the conversation, which included Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.

Goldberg later published its contents and revealed the oversight of his inclusion, causing controversy at home and abroad. Democrats have lambasted the incident as a stunning security and intelligence breach and called on the officials involved to resign.

But before Kelner could finish her question about the incident, firebrand Greene cut in, demanding: “Wait, what country are you from?”

When Kelner replied she was from the U.K., the Georgia representative launched into an angry tirade.

“We don’t give a crap about your opinion and your reporting,” Greene said. “Why don’t you go back to your country where you have a major migrant problem?”

As Kelner tried to press Greene on whether she was concerned about “American lives being put at risk” by the unsecured Signal conversation, the congresswoman retorted: “Do you care about people from your country? What about all the women that are raped by migrants?”

Refusing to take questions from Kelner, Greene turned to another journalist, who identified himself as American and asked Greene to answer Kelner’s question. Greene again refused.

A staunch Trump supporter and prominent figure in the president’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, Greene is known for her vituperative outbursts and has clashed with the British press at least once before.

Last year she told ex-BBC journalist Emily Maitlis to “fuck off” after Maitlis asked her about spreading an antisemitic conspiracy theory that a California wildfire had been started by a laser beam from space.
