The second round of the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament is underway, with the No. 10 seed South Dakota State Jackrabbits looking for a massive upset over the No. 2 seeded yearly juggernaut UConn Huskies.

The Jackrabbits entered the tournament with a record of 30-3, including going a perfect 16-0 in the Summit League. They advanced past the first round with a 74-68 win over the No. 7 seed Oklahoma State, despite trailing 31-24 at halftime. Four players scored in double-digits in the win, led by Brooklyn Meyer’s 19 points. Madison Mathiowetz added 17 and Paige Meyer scored 16 to go with eight rebounds and six assists.
UConn had another fantastic season, going 32-3 overall, with a perfect 18-0 record in the Big East. Head coach Geno Auriemma’s squad led the nation in defense, allowing just 51.3 points per game. They were also No. 1 in offensive rating, at 117.8.
In the first round of the tournament, UConn blasted No. 15 seed Arkansas State 103-34, racing to a 34-5 first-quarter lead and never looking back. UConn held Arkansas State to just 17.1% shooting from the field and a ghastly 6-for-40 (15%) from the 3-point line.
The winner of this game will advance to the Sweet Sixteen to face the winner of the Iowa vs. Oklahoma matchup.
