A fan accused Blake Lively of following her outside to her car after they allegedly stayed at the same swanky hotel earlier this month.
Houston local Kaitlyn Cooper recalled staying at the The Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, with her mother on March 8 when she learned that Lively was staying at the same hotel in an interview with the Daily Mail published Monday.
“We caught wind that there was a VIP staying at the hotel from the front desk people when we walked in,” Cooper shared. “They were chatting with each other and there was just this energy in the air that something was going on.”
Cooper, 27, claimed that a staffer alerted them that if they “stuck around” they might “see the person” — immediately sparking her interest
The hotel guest and her mom enjoyed dinner at the hotel where their server told them the VIP guest was none other than the “Gossip Girl” alum. The server allegedly told the duo that Lively — who just came from Austin where she promoted her new movie “Another Simple Favor” at the SXSW film festival — was there to visit Joanna Gaines, who owns the hotel.
“We ended up finishing dinner and went back down to the lobby and sat in the lounge area, just hanging out. And shortly after that, [Lively] walked in,” Cooper divulged.
Cooper said she started filming Lively with her phone so she could show the clip to her friends.
According to the website, Cooper’s video captures Lively walking into the lobby dressed in jeans and a white shirt. Lively quickly realized that she was being filmed and used her hand to cover her face as she was escorted by hotel staffers and a security guard.
“When she walked in [to the lobby], she was super loud. Her voice was extremely recognizable,” Cooper said. “I think she said hi to the two people at the front desk. She looked at us. I believe she spotted us [filming her].”
Cooper believed that would be her last interaction with the “It Ends With Us” actress — saying that she didn’t see Lively again for the rest of the evening.
However, they would allegedly cross paths again the next morning when Cooper was packing up her car in preparation for check-out. This is when Cooper claimed Lively, 37, approached her outside the hotel.
“We were loading up our car and I heard [someone say], ‘Hi,’ and it was a woman’s voice,” Cooper said. “I looked up, and see [Lively]. She’s got her phone up [like she’s recording me]. Out of instinct, I just said ‘hi’ back, because what do you say?”
Cooper said she was “disturbed” by the incident, in which she claimed Lively circled her car while filming and appeared to aim the camera “towards her license plate.”
“I was really caught off guard,” Cooper said. “She then handed her phone off to her security guy and he did another lap around the passenger side and then they both went back in [to the hotel]. We were just confused about what was happening.”
Cooper, reportedly shaken from the encounter, shared details of the alleged run-in with Lively in videos posted to her Instagram Story.
She said that several “strange” accounts started viewing the video including one of the hotel’s employees and a woman who appeared to be part of Lively’s team.
Daily Mail viewed screenshots of the accounts that viewed her Instagram Story to corroborate Cooper’s narrative.
“It’s very paranoid behavior,” Cooper said, adding, “[I think they were] looking out to see if I would post the video of her.”
