Fans believe Gwyneth Paltrow threw shade at Meghan Markle in her new cooking video.
On Saturday, the makeup-free “Iron Man” actress shared a video on Instagram of herself making breakfast in her kitchen while dressed in striped pajamas.
The clip started with Paltrow taking a sip out of her coffee mug while looking directly into the camera. She then put a pan of biscuits in the oven before doing a high kick and kissing her dog.
When the biscuits were finished baking, Paltrow took them out of the oven and began frying her eggs in a pan. The video concluded with the mom of two showing off her full meal, which consisted of biscuits, eggs, bacon and jam.
“My cleaner take on a classic breakfast: gluten-free buttermilk biscuits, not-so-perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, and crispy bacon #boyfriendbreakfast,” she captioned the post, which was set to the tune of Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love).”
Fans quickly took to the comments, accusing Paltrow, who founded the wellness and lifestyle brand Goop in 2008, of throwing shade at Markle, who pivoted back to lifestyle and showed off her cooking skills in her new Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.”
“Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade & I’m here for it! No makeup in her actual kitchen!” commented one user. (Markle filmed her show in the kitchen of a nearby rental home.)
“Gwyneth is so genuine what a breath of fresh air compared to Markle,” added another.
“Love this. No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends just your beautiful true self. Such a breath of fresh air to see,” said a third person.
“Lol isn’t it this the song they keep using in the Meghan Markle promo?” asked a fourth netizen.
A fifth fan said Paltrow should “pop by Meghan’s place to show her how it’s done,” since both women reside in Montecito, Calif.
Another Instagram user said the Marvel star was “being as relatable as she can be” by wearing PJs with messy hair and no makeup.
Page Six has reached out to Paltrow’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Earlier this month, the “Shallow Hal” star gave her honest opinion about the Duchess of Sussex’s new endeavors.
“Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try,” Paltrow, 52, explained in her Vanity Fair April 2025 cover story, noting that she had not seen the trailer for Markle’s new show.
“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around,” she added.
The Oscar winner recalled her mom, Blythe Danner, once telling her, “Another woman is never your competition. … What is right for you will find you.”
Paltrow also said she had a “strong instinct to stand up for” Markle, 43, as she does whenever there is “noise about certain women in the culture.”
